Paul Simison




Paul Simison became a certified teacher of the deaf and hearing impaired in 1974. After teaching for five years, his passion turned to hearing science, and he earned a second master's degree in audiology in 1981. Following a Clinical Fellowship Year at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, he served as an audiology consultant for the CREC Hearing Impaired Program, the Connecticut Institute for the Blind, and the Gillette Hearing Center in Hartford. He then joined Hearing Aid Services of West Hartford before its merger with the Hearing Improvement Center, where he has practiced since 1983. Cathy Vanden Heuvel manages the West Hartford Office with regard to scheduling, billing, insurances, and occasional minor hearing aid repair.

Alan Dumaine




Alan Dumaine earned his master's degree in audiology from the University of Connecticut in 1981, and served his Clinical Fellowship Year at the San Francisco Hearing and Speech Center. He was a staff audiologist at the Hampden Hearing Center in West Springfield, Massachussetts from 1982-83 before initiating his private practice, the Wethersfield Hearing Center, in January 1984. Alan merged his practice with the Hearing Improvement Center of West Hartford in 1997. Mary Ann Martin manages the Wethersfield office. She, too, handles billing, scheduling, insurances, and occasional minor repairs and assures that your experience at the Center will a be a positive one!
